Subway Clerk: Sorry, we can’t break that $50 bill…

Hey Subway! Why do you let your franchisees implement the stupidest rules in the world? Or maybe it’s a corporate rule, who knows cares… All I know is this makes it not worth going here for the stupid $5 foot long. At SUBWAY in Aurora (I-225 and Mississippi) the other day when I walk in with two kids during the middle of lunch rush. There’s a line out the door.. patiently we wait in line and make our order, get to the front and as I pull out my wallet I see a sign ‘we don’t accept bills over $20′. I also watch the clerk open the register and count out well over a hundred dollars change in $20′s and $10′s before she tells me the total. I cringe because I know I only have a $50 dollar bill in my pocket but I know she has enough change to break it despite the stupid rule.

Nope, Subway employee tells me they don’t take $50′s because it’s more likely they will get robbed if they were to accept bills over $20. She says I can go next door to get change, sorry. Seriously, this is a bad business practice. That’s like telling your customers “sorry, we’d rather you get robbed fetching us the correct change, to ensure our own safety.” You’re telling me SUBWAY can’t afford to buy keep a safe in each location to keep cash they took in for the day? Bullshit.

Burger King on Mississippi and Peoria in Aurora Manager Never Called Back

I only go here because it’s convenient anyways but I just wanted to report that myself and a friend had another horrible breakfast experience at Burger King in Aurora the other morning. Not only was our food order wrong but it was also terrible! Not even close to fresh, the biscuits were crumbling all over and the tater tots were cold.

Normally I would go back to get a refund or a new hot breakfast but we didn’t have the time that day so I called the first number I could find online. I must have spoken with the regional manager who said his name was Steve. He listened to my rant then told me that Carrie the store manager for the location we visited that morning would be calling me back shortly and would work out something to make us happy. Needless to say, the call never came and were not going back.

The Firing Line Gun Shop and Indoor Range in Aurora

The Firing Line in Aurora is a great gunsmith, gun shop and firing range located on Potomac and Alamed in Aurora (I-225 and Alameda). I went there to fire off a few rounds in the range. Of course I spent some time browsing through the shop and saw quite a few cool handguns you don’t normally see in just any gun shop. I did notice that they also carried the new .22 I just purchased at a different gun retailer in Loveland but the price here at the Firing Line was a bit steeper (by almost $55 bucks).

The firing range was busy when we visited on a Sunday afternoon and the users of the indoor range are good at cleaning up shells and other stuff from keeping the firing stalls nice and clean. I recommend stopping in the employees were friendly and seemed to be quite knowledgeable and helful with questions.

Good to know is that this location buys, sells and trades guns!! They really do have a great shop, stop in if you’re in the area.

Web reviews I read were WAY off on this one in my experience. I can’t comment on the food because we never got to eat any. The waitress walked by us twice without stopping at the table to offer a menu or ask if we wanted drinks. I guess you have to sit at the bar to get service. Looked like a private party with a band on the patio, we just wanted a quick meal in the dining area but that looked impossible. We went to “Tres Margaritas” instead. Not recommending trying out Eagle Bar and Grill!
